(WHITE TWP., NJ - October 28, 2025) Today is National First Responders Day, recognizing and honoring the courage, dedication, and service of our first responders.
The Warren County Board of County Commissioners issued a proclamation last week to mark the day and welcomed representatives from several first responder sectors to accept it at the board’s Oct. 22, 2025 meeting.
“We can’t thank them enough,” Commissioner Director Jason J. Sarnoski said.
“It’s a calling and a passion,” Commissioner Lori Ciesla remarked, adding, “We thank you so much for all you do.”
First responders include firefighters, police officers, emergency medical service members, 911 dispatchers, and other emergency personnel. “They truly respond for everything,” Commissioner James R. Kern III said. “It’s an entire community working together,” he added.
The proclamation notes “their unwavering commitment and resilience demonstrate the true meaning of heroism, providing invaluable support during times of crisis,” and adds that “the citizens of Warren County are deeply grateful for the sacrifices made by our first responders and recognize the importance of their contributions to our community.”
Accepting the proclamation were Sgt. Tim Weiss, Jr. of Warren County’s 911 Center, Warren County Fire Chiefs' Association President Peter Ward, and Lopatcong Police Chief Jason Garcia, who heads the county Police Chiefs Association. Weiss thanked the County for all the support, and the other agencies for all the cooperation.
